RiverStreet Networks, a leading provider of fiber-optic internet services, has begun construction for the new fiber-optic network in Pittsylvania County, VA. Many state and local representatives participated in the groundbreaking ceremony held at the Riceville Java Fire Department in Java, VA on March 29, 2023. Today’s ground-breaking ceremony symbolizes the start of the fiber build work. Over the next few months, you will see construction crews working diligently to bring high-speed internet to the doorsteps of residents in Pittsylvania County. The FTTH project is estimated to take up to three years to complete. RiverStreet Networks has divided the fiber expansion into nine sections. The first sections to be installed are the Sandy Level and Renan areas. Construction will then move south to the Java and Strawberry areas.
