Virginia Tech’s College of Natural Resources and Environment (CNRE) and the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center held the first College and Career Expo event on Dec. 6 at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center.
Throughout the day, college and high school students engaged with CNRE college recruiters, as well as representatives from the natural resources industry to learn about careers in natural resources and educational pathways to those careers.
The Virginia Forestry Association, Virginia Department of Forestry, Virginia Cooperative Extension and other agencies and employers were also on site to share information on the wide variety of careers available in the vast field of natural resources.
The Virginia Tech College of Natural Resources and Environment offers degrees in forestry, fish and wildlife conservation, sustainable biomaterials, packaging, meteorology, water, geography, and more, and is the number one ranked Natural Resources program in the United States.
